It’s now the next morning. Everyone had a good night of rest before starting the trip to Denki. As Thoka booked them a fast-boat, the trip that originally took a month, will only take 3-5 days. In general fast-boats are used to ship goods between continents or VIPs. Mostly booked by nobles or military generals as it’s highly expensive.
"All aboard! All aboard! The Boris Star is now setting sail!" Was the only thing you could hear. Afterall, it was the only ship that was sailing at that time.
“We barely made it. Yuuji, you took so long waking up!” Amilia complained as they arrived just 5 minutes before the crew announced the sailing
Yuuji could only giggle before replying, “Well I was having a good dream about something cute I saw last night.” teasing Amilia for how flustered she was when they hung out together
“Hmph!” Amilia pouted while Kazuma and Allen were looking at them both in a little bit of a shock
After a minute of Amilia staring at Yuuji in anger, Kazuma broke the silence “How about we go to our rooms and rest for a little?”
“Great idea!” Allen followed up
It was clear as day that Allen and Kazuma tried to break the awkwardness that was bound to happen.
Both Yuuji and Amilia nodded in agreement.
While Amilia, Kazuma and Allen all headed to their respective rooms Yuuji decided to watch the ocean. He liked the ocean. He always saw it on tv and in anime, but he was never really able to go as his grandma was old and he had only his lone friend.
Watching the waves rock back and forth, He was mesmerized just like a kid on Christmas receiving the gift of his dreams!
A little bit later he heard an old man with a gentle voice “Who wants to hear a little story!”
The noise grew louder as a lot of kids swarmed the old man to listen to his stories.
Yuuji walked up to listen in on the story as it reminded him of his grandma’s old stories.
“Once upon a time this old man right here was actually an army general” He said while showing off his badge of honor
The crowd could only awe at the sight of it. It was only given to very skilled people and those who served either in wars or in settling diplomatic talks and bringing peace.
“50 years ago, I was a general. It was a really horrible time. Women being assaulted, kids being forced to work, lads who barely even matured were forced in the military. 16 year olds who barely looked even fit to lift a box full of candles let alone fight for their country!”
The old man had a disappointed face whilst expressing how terrible of a time it was before he continued
“Anyways, One day, I was sitting in my office angry at all of that. None of the leaders wanted to change how it was since they were being paid handsomely by the nobles, but on that day I got a message, it only said ‘Tomorrow at noon this will all change.’ I was confused yet thrilled! I thought to myself, Isn’t it my lucky day! All of this will change-”
The old man got interrupted by a massive wave rocking the boat. The old man looked at the kids with a stern face “Everyone, back to your rooms. The waves are high and someone might get hurt”
The kids scrambled back to their rooms like the old man ordered. Yuuji, however, stayed behind.
“Sir, can I hear the rest of the story?”
“What a polite kid you are, but I don’t think you’d be interested in hearing the rest of it. How nostalgic it almost feels like it was yesterday…. Anyways, It’s not that interesting all generals have the same story with just a few changes here or there so I don’t think you’d believe me” the old man sighed before gazing at the waves
Yuuji calmly replied “Doesn’t that mean that the person sent it to everyone at the same time?”
"Listen my dear child, I don't know who the person is, nor their motives. But, all I know is we live now peacefully, and I am grateful for it. I am glad the boat rocked, because this revolution was cruel." The old man said before revealing a scar on his chest. "Even I did not come out unscathed"
Yuuji looked in shock on seeing the scar on the old man’s chest
“I- I’m sorry, sir. I didn't mean to bring back that terrible memory”
“You’re really a polite one. I hope my grandchild becomes as polite as you are.” the old man said before chuckling a little
Yuuji excused himself before going back to his room to organize his thoughts
“Who is that mysterious person…. Their motive is also unclear. Someone who wanted to become the ruler of a kingdom? I mean, I only read a few bits about the great revolution in a history book while I was staying at the inn. All I know is, it happened in all the 7 kingdoms..”
Yuuji kept thinking about the story and how well organized the message was from that anonymous sender until it was already night.
Yuuji heard a slight knock on his door to which he invited the knocker in
“Yuuji, are you gonna stay in your room the entire trip?!”
Allen said in a playful tone inviting him to go out and join them for a few drinks.
“Sorry, I don’t dri-”
Allen didn’t even let Yuuji finish his sentence before he dragged him outside forcefully
“Come on! It’s fun, look at Amilia being drunk!”
Looking at where Allen pointed he saw Amilia acting like a child. He slowly came up to her only to hear
“That idiot! I like him lotsh and he doeshn’t even senk of it! Jusht kepsh shaying you my adventur parter waaaa!”
Yuuji was in a bit of a shock, but also seemed a little happy. He tapped on her shoulder slightly and smiled at her.
Amilia looked at who tapped her shoulder. Just about to put out a ton of cuss words she noticed it was Yuuji. She could only hide her face in embarrassment with her hat as she basically confessed her love to Yuuji.
