At the same time that Yuuji’s team was fighting the dragon, Lumi, Tia and Charlotte were trying to slow Flamebringer down.

“This would be a lot easier if she’d get down a little” Charlotte complained as she couldn’t reach her target

Currently Flamebringer was flying really high just firing fire spells at Tia’s team. She looked very disinterested in them and wanted to get rid of them fast.

“This brat is gettin’ on my nerves”

Tia barely dodged a fireball. As she lifted her head she spat out of anger.

“Ye two! we’re not making any progress at all!”

What Tia said wasn’t entirely true. The only one who almost hit Flamebringer was Lumi with her ice spells. So, they made progress, Barely.

Flamebringer was flying at a decent distance from the ground. She had her cracked mask on and had her hands in a praying kind of pose. She was capable of silent incantation while it wasn’t hard to master, it was hard to counter when coming up against someone of Flamebringer’s caliber.

“RAAAAAWR”

As the dragon let out a loud cry signaling its death, Flamebringer descended to the ground.

All of Tia’s party thought of the same thing at the same time ‘This is our chance’

They all rushed in for a strike at Flamebringer. The moment their strikes were about to hit Flamebringer it was obvious that it was a trap by her.

“Reality Distort.”

Everyone’s eyes widened in surprise as they got warped inside a weird space.

This space, domain, alternate reality, whichever you want to call it, was an ability only those talented at magic could use. It required a massive amount of mana per person trapped inside. The maximum is 4 including the caster of the reality distort.

Tia, Lumi, and Charlotte found themselves on top of a mountain and in front of them is Flamebringer levitating in the air.

“Welcome to my humble abode, and to your graves.”

Flamebringer let out these words and then started firing fireballs from left and right.

While reality distort does incase its victim in a small space, it doesn’t have a sure-hit sure-kill effect. It’s only deadly from the fear that stuns the victim making it easy for the caster to finish them off. Only a few in this world were gifted enough to be able to cast this skill with no problem.

Tia’s team kept dodging the fireball, barely dodging.

The number of fireballs being fired multiplied by 3. Inside the reality distort’s domain users can amplify their magic. Of course, that would lead to more mana consumption but for most cases the victim was dead before 2 minutes could go by.

Lumi looked at the exhausted Tia and Charlotte “We need to figure out a plan”

The two nodded in agreement.

The distance Flamebringer was flying at didn’t allow her to hear the plan that’s something Lumi realized and wanted to use

“Tia, you’ll launch me directly at Flamebringer. Her attacks are not for close range combat” Lumi looked at Tia whilst dodging the hail of fireballs.

“That’s suicide!” Tia yelled at Lumi for her dangerous plan “We’re not sure of her range”

Lumi knew Tia was correct. They never know what other tricks other than the reality distort Flamebringer had up her sleeve.

“General, Trust me!” Lumi argued back sounding more and more assertive

Tia furrowed her eyebrows in anger but agreed in the end.

Now they had to find a place to launch Lumi from. Lumi also had a plan for that. They can trick Flamebringer to launch a fireball at a rock in the mountain and hide behind it while trying to launch Lumi.

The plan proceeded straight away Tia jumped on the mountain and skillfully dodged the attack. A massive boulder fell and rested on the flat surface they were standing on.

“YE READY, KID?!” Tia shouted at the top of her lungs for Lumi to go to her.

Lumi rushed as fast she could, dodging fireballs. Charlotte popped out of nowhere and started acting as bait for the fireballs.

“I’ll leave it up to you, Comrade” Charlotte looked at Lumi with a wink giving her more motivation to get this done

“General, go ahead” Lumi said as she jumped at Tia

“HERE AY GO!” Tia started swinging Lumi around getting as much momentum as she could “GO AND MAKE ME PROUD, ICE KIDDO”

Lumi was flying at a very high speed towards Flamebringer with her sword out. As Lumi expected, Famebringer’s attacks are not for close range.

Suddenly the fireballs stopped and so did the reality distort.
