At this point Allen took the lead of the carriage, As they needed to hurry to the capital as fast as possible. By now they were only a day away if they were traveling at a normal speed and in the normal route, However this route Allen took put them merely a few hours away.

“What are we going to do next?” Kazuma broke the silence that loomed over

Everyone looked tired and depressed, they didn’t get enough rest and they couldn’t defeat the dragon.

“We’ll just head to the guild and gather as many adventurers as we can” Allen replied “High rank ones will help us with the dragon and low rank ones will deal with the monsters”

Everyone started thinking about the idea. At first it didn’t seem very pleasant to them putting others in danger but it was the only option available.

“But we don’t really know how many high rank adventurers are in Denki” Yuuji said with his hand on his chin “And we don’t know how many of them were willing to fight a dragon that big” he frowned as he continued

Amilia excitedly “I think it’s worth a shot. Any bit of help is needed”

A few hours went by, and they arrived at the gates of the capital. Everyone showed their adventurer’s license. Luckily for them, The guard on this shift was a smart one and they didn’t get in trouble for having a new adventurer’s license.

As they entered they immediately rushed to the guild. Allen went to the secretary and told her to announce the case.

*“To all adventurers in the capital, Please gather at the gates. I repeat, Please gather at the gates.”*

Panic arose quickly, and the news arrived at the military unit sending their best of the best over at the other gate to protect it.

Everyone rushed to the gate as fast as possible. Bronze, Silver and Gold all gathered with their weapons and potions ready.

Allen with a bow in his hand looked at the many many adventurers “Man, I actually didn’t think it would work.”

Kazuma looked at him with a cold stare “If it didn’t work you’d have had to fight the dragon alone.”

“You’re mean, you know that?” Allen replied with a frown “Anyways, I think this gate will be able to hold”

30 minutes passed and monsters started appearing in the distance. The number of monsters was not small either. It felt like a whole city or country of monsters was attacking. They ranged from goblins, slimes to undead and mechanical monsters. Behind them the giant red dragon appeared roaring in the distance

The sight of them scared the low rank adventurers. Upon seeing that, Allen took charge to get them back into shape “EVERYONE! WE NEED TO STOP THOSE MONSTERS IMMEDIATELY TO PROTECT THE CITY.” Allen shouted to get everyone’s attention and morale up “High ranks, You’ll help us with the dragon. Low ranks, Hold the line against the weak monsters”

Everyone listened carefully and the plan was immediately in action as a bunch of goblins and slimes attacked fast.

“O Mighty winter, Bless us!” Amilia chanted waving her wand giving everyone a strength boost

“Nice one, Partner!” Yuuji smiled at Amilia giving her a thumbs up which made Amilia blush a bit

“Let’s go, everyone!” Allen shouted with everyone nodding their head rushing towards the dragon

The plan was simple, High ranking adventurers are going to distract it enough so that Yuuji, Allen and Kazuma can get their skills up. While Amilia would provide support from the rear. That was the plan at least.

No matter how brave you are, Coming up against a giant strong dragon like that you’d definitely crumble under fear. That was the case for some of the high ranked adventurers there. If it wasn’t for Allen realizing those adventurers getting stunned in place out of fear and shouting at them to wake up, They’d have definitely been killed

After getting into shape the mages fired some water spells at the dragon, While the vanguards started attacking its legs. Eventually getting it distracted enough or so they thought. With one roar, It was able to blow the vanguards away making the tanks take charge to protect the fallen vanguards while Amilia heals everyone.

‘That’s not going according to plan..’ Yuuji thought to himself. As he was thinking that he saw Allen up in the air with his bow in hand charging it as much as possible

“TOLD YOU I HAVE A TRICK UP MY SLEEVE” Allen yelled before firing a piercing shot towards the dragon

The dragon roared louder in agony as the arrow split into 2 arrows hitting 2 of its legs.

“Yuuji, This is your chance” Kazuma quickly glanced over at Yuuji

Yuuji raised his sword in the air, holding it with both hands. He closed his eyes as his sword started glowing a bright blue. ‘This has to be a perfect strike. I can’t mess up here’ Yuuji kept thinking to himself.

The sword looked bright enough it was ready to deliver the final blow. Yuuji tightly closed his eyes, squeezing them shut out of nervousness. He suddenly ran and striked forward, slicing the dragon’s neck, killing it on the spot.

Yuuji fell to his knees in relief as the dragon was finally killed. On the adventurers’ side of things, It was going smoothly and they managed to somehow chase the monsters away with minimal injuries.

Amilia rushed over to Yuuji. She knows how much of a toll that skill puts on Yuuji. Amilia looked at him with a smile “Well done, Partner” to which Yuuji smiled back.

Amilia started casting a healing spell on Yuuji.

“We should get back to the capital now and rest” Allen said while walking over to Yuuji and Amilia, with Kazuma arriving just shortly after. “My treat this time”

‘..I see.. I went easy on them huh..’
