After the battle, Tia decided to give her unit a 7-day leave to meet with family, friends, or just simply rest at home. She considered it a way of lifting morale up after the severe losses her unit suffered in the last battle.
Lumi with her luggage in hand with a slight frown on her face “Are you going to be ok, Tia?”
“Ay’ll be fine! ya need a break” Tia, who looked a little troubled, still replied with the same cheerfulness as always
Lumi and Charlotte who was standing next to her at the time then headed off to go stay at Charlotte’s house for the week
“How many does that make..” Tia said as she wrote something in her notebook
“Tia, as a general you need to know how much responsibility you have!”
“All good, Chief. Ay’ll be fine. Besides, my unit is very strong!”
Suddenly, a flashback of people dying on the battlefield appeared to Tia. People were running away being slashed by monsters with screams that would make people go deaf.
Tia woke up from that daydream with a tear rolling down her face, quickly composing herself.
“Yes, Chief. My boys are really brave.”
“Can’t believe the general gave us a break.”
Lumi looked at Charlotte with a raised eyebrow in confusion “Does she not give breaks often?”
Charlotte looked back at Lumi with a frown “Nope. This is the first ever recorded break in this unit’s history. “ Charlotte continued “Ah, by the way. Do you want to grab a drink before going back home?”
Lumi looked troubled since she doesn’t want to be impolite “But I don’t drink”
“Then let’s get some food. My treat” Charlotte replied back with a smile
Lumi couldn’t refuse the offer as it would seem impolite so she decided to go with it. They decided to go to the inn at the adventurer’s guild as it had decent food and a lot of options.
They arrived at the inn and went to the counter to order the food before picking a table.
As Lumi sat down she heard a familiar voice.
“That was a really hard battle. I’m glad we had Allen save us there”
Lumi looked to where the voice was coming from with wide eyes “Y-Yuuji ?”
“Oh Lumi!” Yuuji replied back with an excited tone
The whole party decided to go sit with Lumi and Charlotte to recount what happened during the past few days.
Lumi began with introductions“This is Charlotte. A local from here and a comrade from the unit I’m training at. And these are friends I met during my stay at Aetherland”
Yuuji looked surprised with his mouth slightly open “Woah! You are now in a unit?! That’s cool!”
Amilia poked Yuuji in the side “Yuuji, That sounds a little rude”
Lumi giggled before asking “So what happened with you guys before we met?”
Allen took the initiative of telling the story “Well– It’s a long story. Hey, Ma’am. Can I get 2 cups of beer?”
