"A thick fog will be engulfing Tokyo today until evening. Please drive safely to avoid accidents"
The forecast was as reliable as ever. Indeed, a dense fog swallowed the gorgeous city of Tokyo whole.
A reckless boy in his uniform was sprinting across the street, completely ignoring the forecast's warnings. Unfortunately for him, a driver, who also ignored said warnings, was speeding and ended up crashing into the his body
The crashing sound sent the boy’s P.E teacher panicking running after the sound.
“Yuuji-kun!” As soon as he yelled he got his phone out and called the emergency number.
A few hours passed afterwards and the doctors just finished helping Yuuji. The boy broke 2 ribs and his leg.
“..An unfamiliar ceiling.”
“YOU’RE FINALLY AWAKE!”
Yuuji only muttered those words out, The one with the loud voice was his childhood friend and his only friend, Kei
“..What happened..?”
Yuuji’s weak voice was understandable and his confusion too were both accepted by Kei who in response nodded
“As per sensei.. You got hit by a car.” He paused for a moment “The car driver was charged with a big fine as he wasn’t driving recklessly but he should’ve been careful in the fog.”
As if a huge burden was lifted off of him, Yuuji sighed.
“It’s my fault anyways for running outside like that.”
Yuuji’s face looked down on the bed with a troubled expression.
“Well…” Kei raised a hand before continuing “I got you some stuff to entertain you! They said you’ll be spending all your winter semester in the hospital”
Upon hearing how long he’ll be spending, Yuuji’s eyes widened with disbelief. However, Kei dipped his hands into his school bag
“TADA! Got you some really good manga!” Kei presented the volume as if he was holding an award
“It’s an isekai manga! I know you love them so, I’ll let you borrow these until you fully recover! AH! I’ll also be taking notes for you in class so don’t worry ‘bout those yea?”
Yuuji bowed his head to show gratitude, a signature that Kei didn’t like at all.
“Well, It’s getting late now. I needa hurry home. Oh by the way the main cha–”
“Spoil me and I’ll strangle you with the IV line.”
With a few jokes cracked and a lot of spoilers avoided from Kei, He left the room.
“Well then… Let’s start this manga shall we..”
Yuuji grabbed a book from his side. Checking the cover it had both a long name and a short name spelled on it.
“Road to hero huh.” Yuuji’s interest quickly dimmed as he read the title “I’ll give it a read, Although it’s probably just some generic thing.”
The cover had a dark blue haired guy with the tips of it going lighter, The short title spelled on the side while the long title on the sleeve.
For the next couple of days, Yuuji ended up reading it all. Deeming it interesting enough or not was irrelevant to him. He only wanted to entertain himself throughout the days at the hospital.
As Yuuji was flipping through one of the volumes, his eyes caught a certain scene
“Why’d the main character just casually sacrifice himself! He’s so dum–”
Yuuji’s words were only interrupted by a sudden shock in his heart. Unbearable pain struck all his senses. His eyes started twitching from the pain and in a flash, he saw an extremely awful sight.
A man with half his face hidden sitting on a throne in what should’ve been a beautiful clean white room but it was only stained with a blood red color. Corpses scattered on the ground lifeless. The man looked into Yuuji’s eyes with a malicious smile only befitting of a villain.
Yuuji snapped back to reality clutching his chest as tight as possible.
“What.. Happened.”
Unable to comprehend the sight he just witnessed and the pain he went through, Yuuji was left utterly dumbfounded.
With only a couple of moments after the pain went away, a sudden bright light flashed the entirety of Yuuji’s room.
The flash was as bright as a star, bright enough to blind someone Yuuji took a few moments before opening his eyes.
As soon as he opened his eyes, they fell onto a drawing on the wooden floor. His leg was fully healed and his ribs felt fine too.
An excited voice suddenly rang through his ears as he gazed upon the source of the noise he saw a woman jumping like a little child.
“I DID IT! I DID IT! HE’S HERE!”
